Any day spent quilting is a good day.

Well, posting something everyday isn't working out. Ridding the house of a bag of trash each day isn't working, either. Oh well. It was a good idea.

I did finish eight quilts to turn into the Stitching Sisters this past Saturday (April 1). I am very pleased with that accomplishment.

Here are the pictures:

I finished Jeannie's quilt but it still needs a label.

Day 22 - So much for writing something each day

Day 22 - So much for writing something each day. Does thinking about writing count? And, out with the bag of trash? That didn't happen either.

I have quilted three more tops and still need to put the binding on. Hopefully, I can do that Friday. There is a top on the frame still to be quilted plus a couple more patiently waiting their turn. MUST. HAVE. EIGHT. FINISHED. BY. APRIL 1. That isn't set in stone. It is my goal. That is how many I turned into the Stitching Sisters last year.

Darn internet takes up too much of my time.

Here is a picture of a bald eagle that someone took on the farm that I grew up on. Oh, how I wish I could have seen it.

Day 6

Day 6 - Monday, laundry day in our house.

Eating plan still working. I like feeling better although I would give anything to eat something with substance.  I ate a banana first thing this morning and an orange late afternoon. Late breakfast, early lunch ate a salad.

I had to redo a quilt block I am currently working on. Resewed the block. Only 6 more to do. I made the backing for another Stitching Sisters quilt and put it on the frame. I am hoping to finish two quilts this week.  I have several left to complete before April 1.

Day 5

Day 5 -  Nothing like a lazy Sunday with know plans. Went to Scioto Downs Racino with Jeannie. Won money on their dime and then proceeded to give it all back to them. Need to learn to leave when I am ahead.

Went to Jeannie's afterwards to spend time with the kids plus Jeremy and Ryder were visiting so I got a two-fer. It was fun watching the puppies reuniting. Definitely a boy thing. The two puppies loved playfully fighting with each other. They have grown quite a lot in the past two weeks. Bear got to keep his name. Jeremy and Kelly renamed their puppy, Archer (formerly Shy).

Day 4

Day 4 - Lazy Saturday. Spent the day watching Midsomer Murders with Jack. The shows are his current favorite series to watch on Netflix. Cute show. The English seem to commit lots of murders with the most unusual devices. Proves that eliminating hand guns will not stop murders.

Went to Walgreens to pick up a prescription and then to Walmart to buy Milo's tea.

Stuck to eating plan today but difficult. Oh, how I want something sweet and salty and with lots of calories. But. Must. Stick. To. Plan. I want to feel better.

Day 3 - Better Late than Never

Missed posting Day 3's post. So here is a summary of what I accomplished yesterday. I attended Groveport's Town Hall Cooking which is always the first Friday of each month. It is a fun way to meet and make new friends and learn something new in the way of cooking. Yesterday's topic was Irish foods. We made two types of cabbage stir fry. So easy and so good. The Potato pancakes were delicious. My group made Irish Soda Muffins. I loved them. Of course, they aren't on my new eating plan but I did eat one. We made them in a mini muffin tray so it was more of a two bite sample. Next month's class will be food made with rice.

I tackled the binding on a Stitching Sister's quilt. I am not too clean on the fabric selection that was made but I am sure someone will love being wrapped in it during chemo. I always pray that the person will be healed of their cancer.

Rob and Ginger stopped by for a visit. I always love some one-on-one time with my kids. During family gathers there is really very little time talking. Came meal time and we decided to try Little Italys' because they were hosting a benefit for the Nester Children. There was an hour and half wait so we went to Los Mariachis. The food is always good there.

One more bag bites the dust.

Day 2

Day 2 - Not as productive as I would like but 2nd bit of trash thrown out. Albeit, several folders full of old receipts and bills. That counts - a little less clutter in the house.

Kind of a lazy day. One of those days when I know nothing is going to get done. Well, I did pay all of March's bills that aren't paid automatically. I should be sewing on something but that isn't going to happen. Maybe, after I finish this, I will work on the afghan. I need to have it finished by June.

Change in eating - going well. I am eating lots of vegetables and fruits. My gut is objecting to all of the fiber it isn't used to. I crave sweets but so far have resisted. That is going to be my cross to bear for the next few days. I. CAN. WIN. THIS.

Until tomorrow....

Date 1 - It Has Been Five Years

I find it hard to believe it has been five years since I last posted on my blog. I never was one to keep a diary or a journal. With the best of intentions I tried but always lost the desire to keep it up. I am hoping that I can change. Beginning today I plan on posting what I need to accomplish each day. I am implementing some changes and need daily nudges to keep me on track.

Today is March 1, 2017. It is the first day of Lent. While others "give up" something I rather do something positive. In a way I am giving something up but it is because I plan on changing my eating habits. I recently read about the sirt food diet. Interesting plan that makes sense to me. Supposedly, it helps with inflammation. I have a lot of issues along that line. Psoriasis is also another problem that may be helped. It can't hurt. I am starting this change weighing in at 197.5. I will post my weight each Wednesday. Let's hope it goes down.

As another positive change I plan on cleaning and ridding the house of one bag of "stuff" everyday. This bag can be trash or items to donate. It doesn't matter as long as something leaves the house. It can be a small bag or a large bag. It can also be something to store for that "yard sale" I always talk about having but then don't. (If the yard sale doesn't happen that stuff will also be donated.)

Here is a picture of today's trash. It isn't much but I cleaned the downstairs bathroom and got rid of a bunch of old stuff that was probably well passed their use by dates.

The Stitching Sisters' annual Sewing Day is April 1. I have several tops that I need to quilt and bind to turn in that day. I have one quilt finished and a second quilt needs the binding attached. My goal is to finish two quilts each week until the April date.

Tomorrow - lose another bag of trash and maybe some weight.

Couldn't resist posting more pictures of things we did today.
This was taken this morning. I guess Papa knew he needed
to rest up for the rest of the day.

                                                                  Ian wore Papa out.
